“How do I decide what job to pursue next?”
“What is the right way to balance my career with my partner’s career?”
“Why do I have to choose between being a good partner and having a successful career?”
“How do I make sure I’m prioritizing my family, my job, and myself in the right way?”
“How do I get unstuck in the perception that I’m not ready for a senior leadership role?”
These are some of the questions I’ve helped clients sort through in their pursuit of a meaningful, balance-driven and purpose-filled career. Because in this day and age, our careers can be such a large part of our lives, finding clarity with career can often lead to clarity in other parts of our lives as well.
About
Hi, my name is Patrick Dedrick, the coach behind Progress Over Perfection Coaching. I am a certified Gallup Clifton Strengths Coach, Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation.
I have over 10 years of experience working in Supply Chain and Planning functions, in a variety of industries and varying levels of leadership. While I love the interconnectedness of supply chain and manufacturing environments, I really love the human aspect of those environments, and how that human aspect can be an immeasurable variable (for better or worse) in what can otherwise be a very formulaic and calculated field. I have seen large initiatives under-deliver due to a disengaged team, as well as culture-changing projects erupt from the passion of junior associates going above and beyond their job description. An organization is only as good as the commitment and passion of those that comprise it, and I love coaching because I love to help others unlock the best in themselves.
I am also a husband, son, sibling and father, and I believe that all of those roles can help give me perspective and empathy to help better connect with you, as you look for ways to tackle your own obstacles and achieve your own goals.
I believe in balance – that it means something different for each of us, and that it is something we all want and need, especially when it comes to your career and professional life. Whether you need help finding what balance means to you, or need a gentle nudge to get back on track to living in your balance, I am here to help, so that you can lead your most fulfilling and meaningful life, in service of your passion and what matters to you. I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of coaching professionals to conquer obstacles that have stood in their way, from:
+ Getting that promotion that had always seemed just out of reach
+ Getting clarity on what it is that they really want, so they can focus on what’s most important
+ Overcoming detrimental perspectives that had blocked them from asking for what they really want
My philosophy on coaching holds as paramount the truth that you have all that you need – sometimes, you just don’t know how to access that. That’s where I come in, and I can’t wait to help you get to where you want to go.

The coaching is light and easy going, very comfortable. Initially, I was concerned it would be a structured dialogue with a planned agenda. It is the opposite, really. Each meeting has been a conversation that has allowed underlying roadblocks to organically present themselves.
